I keep data collection on this site deliberately small. This page explains what is collected, why, and how you can ask for it to be changed or deleted.

Newsletter
If you subscribe to Perspectives, I collect the email address you submit, when you subscribe and where the signup came from. I use that information to send the Perspectives emails you asked to receive.
Newsletter emails are sent on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time. Use the unsubscribe link in an email, visit the unsubscribe page, or write to ak@augustkring.com.
Anti-abuse data
The signup endpoint uses a short-lived pseudonymous rate-limit key to reduce automated abuse. The raw IP address is not stored in the newsletter database. Rate-limit records are kept for no more than 24 hours.
Retention
An active subscriber email is kept while the subscription is active. If you unsubscribe, your email address is deleted from the subscriber list. I no longer use that address to send Perspectives.
Service providers
The website uses Vercel to run its newsletter functions, and its public pages may also be delivered through Cloudflare. Newsletter subscription data is stored using Neon. These providers support the site's hosting and newsletter infrastructure. I do not sell subscriber information.
Contact
If you contact me directly, I receive the information you choose to send. I use it to read and respond to your message and keep it only for as long as it remains useful for that conversation or any legitimate follow-up.
Cookies and tracking
augustkring.com does not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, this page and the consent experience will be updated before optional tracking is enabled.
Your choices
You can ask what personal information I hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or withdraw newsletter consent by writing to ak@augustkring.com.
